Proven Leadership for Ward 2

The purchases of Scarlett Heights and Buttonwood Elementary are a huge win for Ward 2. Working in partnership with Trustees, staff and parents,

Markus made it happen!

Promise made - Promise kept

Markus defended our Ward 2 parents right to the sole use of Scarlett Heights. He organized a parent coalition, advocated to Trustees and spoke at the Board meeting before a crucial vote that would have  allowed Scarlett to be used by another Ward. Markus successfully stopped that motion and kept Scarlett Heights a Ward 2 school for generations to come. The province is now dragging its feet for approval of funds to proceed. We need this school built now! Let's work together to finish this project.

 Leadership, Knowledge and Experience matter!

A 30 year resident of Etobicoke with a deep commitment to our local community, Markus continues to work alongside parents, educators, and parish leaders. His goal: to ensure every student receives a top-tier education rooted in faith, accountability, respect and to prepare for an exciting future pursuing their individual dreams and aspirations.

Markus has served Ward 2, fighting for publicly funded  Catholic education as a Board representative to the Ontario Catholic School Trustees Association. (OCSTA) Over his eight year tenure as Trustee, he successfully championed the building of two new schools in Ward 2, brought expanded student resources, improved school renewal infrastructure, supported the International Language Program and advocated for family centred, parent led policies.

Securing provincial funding for our new elementary school and child care

Markus de Domenico has led the charge to secure dedicated provincial capital funding for a state-of-the-art 600-place elementary Catholic school complete with dedicated on-site child care spaces in Ward 2. By uniting local parent councils, school communities, and Board trustees, Markus continues to fight tirelessly at Queen's Park to ensure our growing neighbourhoods receive the modern classrooms, early learning facilities, and safe learning environments our families deserve.
